Forward Alex Bump has agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced on Tuesday.
The deal begins in the 2025-26 season.
Bump, 21, will report to the Lehigh Valley Phantons — Philadelphia’s AHL affiliate — for the remainder of this season.
The 21-year-old was selected by the Flyers in the fifth round (No. 133) of the 2022 Draft. He’s been a part of the team’s development camp in each of the last three seasons.
Bump is coming off an impressive sophomore season in which he led the Broncos to a national title. It was Western Michigan’s first NCAA title in program history.
The six-foot-two, 200-pound forward put up 47 points (23 goals and 24 assists) while serving as an assistant captain for the championship squad. He led the Broncos in total points while ranking 13th in all of the NCAA.
For his efforts, Bump was named National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) forward of the year and was the unanimous First-Team All-NCHC selection. En route to Western Michigan’s title, he logged three goals and an assist during the NCHC Frozen Faceoff and won tournament MVP.
Prior to attending college, Bump also played two seasons in the USHL, split between the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm. He registered 25 goals and 56 points in 75 games.
