The Florida Panthers won the opening-round Battle of Florida with a 6-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 on Wednesday.
Sam Bennett scored the game-winner late in the second period, breaking a 3-3 tie.
The Panthers are the third team in the East to advance to the second round, joining the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals.
Florida will play the winner of the Toronto Maple Leafs-Ottawa Senators series in Round 2.
