With the Florida Panthers set for a third straight Stanley Cup Final, they not only await their opponent but also the start date of the championship series.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final will take place either June 4 or June 7, depending on the outcome of Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.
If the Edmonton Oilers win on Thursday, the Final will begin June 4, but if the Dallas Stars win, it will start June 7. All games will be covered by Sportsnet.
Edmonton currently leads the third-round series 3-1 heading into Game 5, which will take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Should the Oilers claim their fourth victory to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row, it will set up a rematch with the Panthers, who defeated them in seven games in 2024.
The Stars, meanwhile, last appeared in the Final in 2020, losing in Game 6 to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
