Unpopular Opinion: A Don’Tale Mayes Fight is better than the majority of UFC title fights

I’m obviously biased because he’s one of my favorites to watch, but I think what he lacks in skill he makes up for with consistent entertainment in high-stakes fights. He reminds me of when I watched UFC in the late 90s and fights just felt more…raw. -Consistent Wars aside from the Gaziev fight -Lots of tension and momentum swings (Cao Machado fight) -Modern UFC champions are boring -Don’Tale Mayes is more exciting than Belal Muhammad, Magomed Ankalaev, and Alexander Volkanovski (all decision merchants) -Recent title fights have been lackluster (Du Plessis Strickland 2, Pereira vs. Ankalaev, Makhachev vs. Moicano) -Title fights have sucked for a while. Even fights like Volk Holloway 3 are horrifically boring -Don’Tale Mayes brings more tension to any fight than any fighter submitted by /u/ThurwalshMormonstoff [link] [comments]
