Marcus Johansson is returning to Minnesota.

The Wild signed the forward to a one-year, $800,000 contract, the team announced on Friday.

Johansson, 34, recorded 11 goals and 23 assists in 72 games last season before adding two assists in five post-season contests.

The Swede has played 983 career NHL games with the Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Wild and Seattle Kraken. He was originally selected 24th overall by the Capitals in the 2009 draft.

Standing six-foot-one, 205 pounds, Johansson recorded his 500th career point in February — he now has 517 points (185 goals, 332 assists) — and is set to join the 1,000-game club if he appears in 17 contests next season.
